Weekly Tips for Lean Track: Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of the Lean Track! You’ve built a pace you can repeat and started to progress it. Now it’s about keeping everything working together.

ATHLETICS TIPS
Week 5 | Train with intent, not just intensity.
This week, training, nutrition, activity, and recovery all pull their weight. Keep building quality work without chasing the red line. Consistency across the week matters more than any single session.

Your Cue This Week
On your non-class days, keep moving with something easy, like a walk. It’s simple active recovery that keeps you consistent without adding stress.

NUTRITION
Fuel the Work: Recovery Still Matters During Fat Loss
When you’re focused on an energy deficit, it’s easy to forget that training is still a stress on your body, and recovery is how it adapts. Enough food, fluids, sleep, and rest all support your ability to keep training. If you’re repeatedly exhausted, your performance is dropping, you’re dealing with constant hunger, or you’re struggling to recover, your current approach may be too restrictive. More restriction isn’t always the answer.

Try this: After your next session, have a meal or snack with protein and carbohydrate instead of waiting until you’re overly hungry.

Worth knowing: If you need a lift this week, Red Bull Energy Drink is one option. Its B vitamins (B3, B5, B6, B12) contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Keep it working alongside real food and rest, not in place of them. That combination is what keeps your energy steady day to day.

You can also use the F45 Challenge app meal plans to find balanced meals that fit around your training schedule.

WELLNESS TIPS
Notice patterns beyond the scale: persistent fatigue, feeling unusually cold, hair shedding, menstrual or hormonal changes, brain fog, changes in hunger or difficulty changing body composition despite consistency. None of these symptoms diagnose a condition, but persistent patterns can be worth discussing with a clinician rather than responding with more restriction.

ARTICLE OF THE WEEK

What is Muscle Memory? The Brain-Body Link Behind Why Workouts Get Easier

Muscle memory is your body’s ability to remember movements and skills through repetition, making exercises feel more natural and helping you regain strength and coordination after time away from training. The more consistently you practice good form, gradually challenge yourself, and prioritize recovery, the stronger these patterns become. The best part? Even after a break, your body can draw on what you’ve already built, helping you get back into your routine without starting from scratch.

WEEK 5 TAKEAWAY
This week is about keeping it all working together. Build quality work without red-lining, keep moving on your off days, fuel your recovery instead of cutting it, and remember that feeling run down is a signal to look at your overall approach, not to do more.

Consult a physician or qualified healthcare professional before starting any diet, nutrition, or exercise program. Results are not guaranteed and may vary based on starting point, individual effort, personal health history and adherence to the program. Red Bull Energy Drink is not a thirst quencher. It has not been formulated to deliver re-hydration. Hence, water should be consumed in addition to Red Bull Energy Drink during exercise. Your exact strategy will depend on several factors including exercise duration, the nature of the activity and your personal tolerances, preferences and medical history.
